Staff Wellbeing
We really care about the support our staff receive. Here are some of the things you can expect when you work for us:
Employee Assistance Programme
This is an anonymous service which includes a free 24/7 information and advice phone line/ live chat answered by qualified counsellors or legal/ financial specialists. It also offers access to up to 6 counselling sessions (either in person, online or over the phone), as well as self-led online CBT, and a number of wellbeing resources such as health checks, webinars, and worksheets.
Wisdom App
This includes breathing exercises, meditations, and sleep stories. There’s also work out videos, healthy recipes, and informative wellbeing videos, articles and podcasts. You can also use the app to access the live chat, video call, and phone call to get confidential emotional, legal, and financial support.
Mental Health Champions and The Staff Room
We have two mental health first aid trained staff who are available to all staff for a 1-1 chat or signposting. We also run a monthly “Staff Room” for staff to get together and get advice, support, or just a friendly ear. These alternate between being in person and online. All management are also mental health first aid trained.
Charity Workers Discount
You can register for this and access exclusive discounts on shopping, food, and insurance, just to name a few.
Money Buddies Scheme
You are eligible to access the money buddies scheme for free who can provide support with budgeting, debt advice, and saving money.
Tickets for Good
You can access discounted or sometimes free tickets for various events including music festivals, theatre, and sports
Blue Light Discount
People Matters will the cover the cost of the Blue Light Card which gives you access to a number of different discounts and offers, and an app that you can download to keep track of these.
If you currently work for us, the full details of all of these resources and benefits, including passwords, are sent out monthly in the weekly update or you can contact your manager for the details.
Staff Representative
We have a staff representative who manages an online suggestion box where staff can offer any feedback or suggestions to improve the organisation, and a teams channel where staff can discuss issues. There is also a WhatsApp group run by one of our support workers where staff share information and ask for advice.
Training opportunities
We regularly offer training opportunities and opportunities to work towards qualifications. Some qualifications people have completed while with us include IAG, education and training, and health and social care. We also source training if it will be beneficial to you in your role, for example staff have completed intensive interaction training, self-harm training, and person-centred support training, just to name a few.
Away days and staff socials
We organise opportunities for staff to get together outside of work at least quarterly with staff socials. These have previously included a quiz night, meals out, drinks, bowling, crafts, and a band night. We also have an annual staff away day each year.
Regular supervisions, flexible working, travel expenses, annual leave and pension
