Keeping safe

At People Matters we really want to keep the people who use our services safe. If you want to know about safeguarding have a look at this Easy Read What is Safeguarding leaflet. We make sure that all our staff and volunteers have a DBS check and access information and training. Have a look at the basic safeguarding information LCC Safeguarding Leaflet provided by Leeds City Council.
People Matters has a full safeguarding policy and works with LCC Adult Social Services and Children’s Services to keep people who use our services safe. Please tell us if you are worried about any member’s safety.
Your personal information is also important at People Matters. We comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and have a full Information Governance Policy. We are registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) as a data controller. Please see our Privacy Notice
External professionals may wish to see how we keep people safe who take part in adult learning or our social groups. These are all currently (September 20) to be held at Barkston House. The risk assessment for our activities room can be downloaded together with the safe systems of working instructions our staff use.
Our values and members mean we are wholehearted supporters of the movement to reduce modern day slavery. Please see our full Modern Slavery statement.
