Social Groups

Come and join one of our social groups on a weekday evening or during the weekend for fun. Make new friends, go out for meals, go bowling, sing karaoke, play rounders in the park or simply enjoy a drink and a chat.…….. You decide! We have several social groups for young people aged 16-29 and social groups for adults 18+. They are open to people with learning disabilities and those who are autistic. All our social groups are member led. This means group members choose what they want to do.

Teens & Twenties Groups

We have several social groups for young people aged 16-29 that run 6.30pm – 8.30pm Monday – Thursday and 1pm – 3pm Saturday. The Teens and Twenties groups are funded by the National Lottery Big Lottery Fund so there is no membership fee, just pay as you go for activities you take part in!

Adult Groups

These social groups are for adults aged 18+ run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7pm to 9 pm.  They also plan choose their own activities from watching a movie at the cinema to going clubbing. There is a membership fee for these groups as they are NOT funded and the cost for these groups is £20 per month. .

Social Groups

Each group is supported by experienced staff including a group leader, assistants and/or volunteers. However, they are very much member led regarding what they do and where they meet. Every six weeks members will discuss what they would like to do during the next six weeks. The group leader puts together a programme to share with group members.  Often group members will communicate via What’s app during the week and a text reminder is sent to members about that week’s activity.

How to Join

If you are interested in joining one of our social groups, contact us on 0113 234 6896 or email info@peoplemattersleeds.co.uk. You will need to complete a membership form, we can do this together so we can get to know you. You can ask your parent/carer to help as well.

Our staff and volunteers are friendly and always around to give support if you need it but most of all there to make sure you have a great time out. Here is the report our Teens and Twenties members did on what that project meant to them:
