Making Equality Important
At People Matters equality matters. Of course we have a policy that looks at equality of opportunity and this covers both employees and members. Over 30% of our staff have a disability or long term health condition. Empowering our members is really important to us too so one director has a learning disability, another is on the autistic spectrum. Our Chair of the board is a parent of a young person with a disability. Everyone who uses our services is a member and gets the opportunity to influence what we do.
We support the Get-Me-Charter-EasyRead in Leeds. This was developed by people with learning disabilities. The Charter gives some clear and simple points about how people with learning disabilities want to be treated. As an organisation People Matters is proud to have signed up to the charter.
If anyone ever has a problem when they take part in one of our activities we would like you to tell us straight away. The easiest way to get in touch is to use our compliments and complaints process.
We think the People Matters values help guide us on how we work with our members
