Donations and Fundraising

 At People Matters we know that charities like us always have a list for things that we need funding for. Could you make a donation to us?

We are now trying to secure new improved premises as Barkston House has problems for us that we can’t solve properly like always keeping absolutely everyone safe if there was a fire. The work we do is also no longer funded to allow us to manage the extras our members really value too. For example we really want to have a members social room so people can drop by when they want to see some friends instead of being lonely.

Can you help with a donation? We keep a list of what we really need, big and small. Members have chosen different things like new tables for the activities room with money they had raised. This room is where most of our courses are run. Ask us if you want to know what we need.

Go fund me are our fundraising donations partner. By donating through them it means we can also access gift aid if you are a UK tax payer. Alternatively just ask the person you know here. They will be able to find out what to do.

If you shop online there’s now an easy and free way for you to support People Matters. 

We’ve teamed up with both Amazon Smile and easyfundraising to help you fundraise for us.

At Amazon Smile you go to their website and log on just like Amazon. You use the same Amazon account you always have. The prices are just the same but now you can choose a charity (hopefully ours) and every time you buy something they make a donation to us. You can even get an Amazon smile app too.

At Easy fundraising they provide a shopping directory listing some of your favourite online stores. Hundreds of popular retailers are participating including  M&S, Vodafone, eBay, Tesco, Viking and over 3000 others.

All you need to do is use the links provided on the easyfundraising site whenever you shop online. The retailer will then give People Matters up to 15% of every purchase you make – it’s that simple!

It doesn’t cost a penny extra to shop and raise funds in this way, and you can even save money as many retailers give exclusive discounts, special offers and even ‘e-vouchers’ exclusive to easyfundraising.
