Our Teens ‘n’ Twenties project brings together young people from 14 to 25 to make friends and enjoy going out socially. Our groups consists of 9 to 11 disabled young people, two paid sessional staff, and volunteers, including young volunteers who are the same age group a the young people they are supporting.
They meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and on Saturday afternoon to
enjoy bowling, pool, meals out, swimming, shopping, swimming and even play laser tag!
We aim to ensure that young disabled people experience a social life in the same way as other young people.
So …we never use special transport, halls or any other segregated provision, but request that parents or carers ensure that their young person travels safely to and from the venue. We support young people to become increasingly independent through making choices and developing life skills.
Our Moving On group is for mature young people over 18 who are getting ready to move on to adult provision by further developing their independence.
